This album is an exploration of aspirations and inspirations in a time of exaspiration.
"Urban Hermit" is a presciently titled original, composed a few months before the COVID-19 virus forced us all to become urban hermits for a while. (I hope it's just for a while.)
The remaining tracks are covers of classic jazz fusion tunes from 1968 through 1983. My goal with this project was to explore the details and nuances of some of my favorite compositions from that era. Improvised solos were a secondary factor to the overall arrangement and challenge of playing every instrument myself.
